Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa
Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
In 1601, the 5th Sikh Guru i.e. Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji decided to collect the whole Gurbani in one place. For this purpose, Guru Sahib Ji collected the Gurbani of the first four gurus, 15 bhagats, 11 Bhatt, and 4 Gursikhs.
Guru Sahib Ji appointed Bhai Gurdas Ji as the writer at a place, which is now called Gurudwara Ramsar Sahib ( a place near the Gurudwara Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji, Amritsar ). Guru Sahib gave him the responsibility of writing the whole collected Gurbani at one place in different musical modes called Raags. This whole process took around three years and was completed in 1604.
Till this time, the construction of Sri Harmandir Sahib was almost done. So Guru Sahib Ji decided to do the first Prakash of Sri Adi Granth Sahib Ji.
For this , Guru Sahib Ji asked all the sangat to do kirtan . The Sroop of Shri Aad Granth Sahib Ji was bought from Gurudwara Ramsar Sahib to Shri Harmandir Sahib. At this time, Guru Sahib Ji was doing the Seva of Chaur Sahib.
After reaching the Harmandir Sahib, Guru Sahib Ji asked Baba Budha Ji to commence the first Prakash of Sri Adi Granth Sahib and read the holy hukumnama. In this way, Baba Budha Ji became the first Granthi in the Sikh religion. Baba Budha ji read the first Hukumnama of Shri Aad Granth Sahib and it is –

After this, kirtan was held till evening. After the Sukhasan Seva, the sroop of Sri Adi Granth Sahib Ji was taken to Kotha Sahib.
Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji had designed a bed for the rest of Shri Aad Granth Sahib Ji. At that time, for the respect of Gurbani, Guru Sahib Ji slept on a sheet that was placed just below the bed of Shri Aad Granth Sahib Ji.
